We have something very special planned for May 1st - a hiking triathlon in the Spreewald. We will paddle a day, bike a day and hike a day. There was a lot of interest and so we left with 19 people. As always, we arrived in carpools and met before
Place in Luebbenau
in the
canoe home. Some have already started furnishing the houses and preparing dinner. The canoe home is well furnished and is right in town and right on the river, you can start right outside the front door. In the evening we just sat together and discussed our plans. We haven't seen each other for a long time so there was a lot to talk about. On Saturday we walked to the
Canoe rental at the campsite, loaded the canoes and set off on our paddling tour to the gem of Lehde. We drove through many small weirs and made a small round trip through the
Place Lehde. Suddenly a boat disappeared. That wasn't funny with the many waterways and we looked for the two girls for over an hour. They simply turned into another path and we always drove parallel in front of it. Cell phone reception was as good as none. That was a challenge, but we mastered it and celebrated the reunion in a native way. After we were all together again we decided to cut the tour short as we wasted too much time to do the whole loop. So we headed towards
Votschofska
and had a long lunch break in the restaurant. After that we slowly made our way back and we were back in time for the evening. We had a barbecue for dinner and sat together, first in front of the canoe home and later in the lounge because it was just too cold. On Sunday we had a hearty breakfast and then we got our bikes ready to go. Our tour was planned via Lübben to Schlepzig and from there back along the canal. In
Lubben
we took a short break and then we continued to Schlepzig. In
sloppy
I had a surprise for everyone because we visited them
Whiskey distillery Spreewood. We got a great guided tour with tasting and had a lot of fun. The return trip was a bit strenuous as we had to drive in an open field and had a strong headwind. Some of us were still doing the
small brewery Babben
a short stopover in Lübbenau. Some of the boys were still pretty quick and when we arrived at the canoe home, the grill was already fired. The girls snipped lettuce and made everything nice and the boys took a dip in the Fliess and then it was off to the BBQ. That was another very nice evening. A few people who were crazy about dancing went to the town to dance in May and danced until their soles were smoking. On Monday after breakfast we cleared the boat and then headed home towards Krausnick. From there we went on a nice hike
Wehlaberg vantage point,
from where you have a great view over the Spreewald. After that we made our way back home. Once again it was a great tour.
