Höhenglücksteig 2016

Höhenglücksteig 2016

Some of the group want to try climbing, so the idea came up to do the Höhenglückssteig near Nuremberg, of course with a mountain guide. The journey from Hamburg was a bit further, but I was happy to accept that. However, I didn't assume that it would Place names Pruppach There are 2x in the area and so of course it had to happen that I promptly drove over 100 km too far until we realized that I ended up in the wrong place. Well, so I had to drive back first and only arrived in the middle of the night. That was pure excitement, because on the way I ran out of fuel and with 7 liters in the tank I didn't dare to go on the Autobahn. Well, everything went well again and at the last minute I found a gas station somewhere in the middle of nowhere that was still open. We were longingly welcomed by the others in the Hotel to the Elsa farmer expected. Here I booked something very special, namely an overnight stay in the hay. That was great. We had an entire attic to ourselves. This was laid out with hay for sleeping. If you couldn't sleep, you could let off steam on the climbing wall or on the slackline or play mini golf next door. However, everyone was so exhausted that we quickly disappeared into our sleeping bags. On Saturday morning, after what felt like 2 hours of sleep, nobody really wanted to climb out of the hay at first, but we had already made an appointment with the mountain guide for 10 a.m. I was able to squeeze out half an hour longer, so at least we could have breakfast in peace. After that we drove to our meeting point. The mountain guide was very nice and very understanding. We hiked to Höhenglücksteig and there we first received instruction and a few tips and tricks on how to move on the via ferrata. The advantage is that the KS is divided into several sections with different levels of difficulty, so everyone could choose what they dared and what not. So everyone got their money's worth and we had a great day on the rock and were accordingly exhausted in the evening. For dinner we bought barbecue stuff and were provided with a barbecue area in the hotel garden. That was great, nice to sit together and have a barbecue. The boys used the trampoline in the garden for the rest of their energy and everyone was very happy. On Sunday we had a leisurely breakfast and then a special experience awaited us. Because there was one nearby Mount Kaolino, where you could ski and snowboard on sand in the summer. It was quite a large complex with a campground and an outdoor swimming pool. Given the temperatures, we wouldn't have had anything against the bathroom either, but you can do that anywhere. So we borrowed the boards and let the fun begin. Ok, it took a little longer, because the dull sand made it difficult to slide, so you had to think of a different tactic than on a normal slope. But it was great fun and afterwards we all looked like breaded schnitzel and you don't even want to know where else we found the sand. After a little ice cream we went back to the autobahn and headed home. It was another adventurous weekend.
