Harzer Hexenstieg 2015

Harzer Hexenstieg 2015

With the Harzer Hexenstiegbegan the development of the hiking group. Because this was the first tour of 4 people who met on Facebook. We wanted to do 3 stages of the Harzer Hexenstieg together. We met at our first guesthouse in Clausthal Zellerfeld. We stayed privately with a family who welcomed us very warmly. Since we only knew each other from the network, we had a lot to tell to get to know each other better. The night got pretty short. The next morning we started our first stage. We quickly adapted and had a very relaxing day of hiking. The route made a very nice impression, even if this stage was supposed to be a bit long, which we didn't know yet. Our milestone should turf housebecome. It wasn't very tiring on the way. We walked along irrigation ditches, through moorland and around a beautiful lake all around in Altenau. Unfortunately, the identification of the Hexenstieg left a lot to be desired, because after about 8 km we realized with a shock that we had walked in circles around Altenau in a large circle... Hmmm at first we thought it was funny, then not anymore, because we did still had a few kilometers to cover before we reached our destination for the day. Well it's no use, we tried it with humor and treated ourselves to a big, fat cream puff during the lunch break. Then we continued towards Torfhaus with renewed energy. We hadn't booked any more overnight stays because we didn't know where we were going. So we took a bus in Torfhaus and drove to a small pension in Bad Harzburg. After our hellish trip on the first day, our feet burned quite a lot. But it was still enough to go out for a delicious meal in the neighborhood and to hiss a beer brewed in Altenau. Somehow this name triggered an allergic reaction in us. On the 2nd day it went with the historic cable caron the big castle hill . There you had a wonderful view over the Harz Mountains. From there we started our day's stage on the Eckertalsperre over the Teufelsstieg to the Brocken and from there to a hotel in Schierke. Except for the fat toad on the way, it was another great day of hiking in beautiful nature. And finally there was a super delicious Harzer dish before we fell into bed dead tired. On the 3rd day we were supposed to go from Schierke over the Wurmbergstieg go to Braunlage. This stage was also great, with a short detour to the ski jump, we went down to the village. From there we took the bus back to our starting point and that was the end of our tour. We got along so well that we really wanted to do it again, which sealed the formation of the hiking group.
