Elbe Sandstone Mountains 2016

The Haentzschel staircase we wanted to use it as a starting point for a via ferrata, so I organized a tour to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. It started again on Friday after work, but the construction sites on the Autobahn towards Dresden were lined up and so I was on the road for more than 6 hours. Pretty broken we met late in the evening in the Ottendorf Hut a. Just a little snack, greeted the others and off we went into the sleeping bags. The next morning we were equipped with the material and then there was first a small hike on the painter way to the stairs. The landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is simply unique. After a short briefing by our mountain guide, we started our adventure. Everyone had a lot of fun and could test themselves. At the top we took a short break and then continued on our way. There were still one or two stairs on the way and that made the whole thing interesting. We got back to the hut in the evening quite tired. There was something delicious to eat and then experiences were exchanged and played. On Sunday we went for a little hike Schmilka and visited the milland the brewery. After that we went back home, because we didn't know how long it would take us. But everyone was able to get an idea of a via ferrata and decide on the next tours.
